Czech golf courses successful despite crisis

29 June 2012

The Czech Republic has been outperforming neighboring countries as a golf destination, according to KPMG’s latest Golf Advisory Practice survey. Unlike the rest of the Eastern Europe, where nearly a third of the golf courses reported poor results, KPMG reports that the number of golfers grew by 7.6 percent in 2011. This growth is at variance to both regional and global trends, as the economic downturn has forced golf courses worldwide into the rough. Sixty-four percent of courses in East Europe are planning capital investment this year, according to KPMG. Of those, 35 percent reported losses last year, writes The Prague Post.
