Czech industrial vacancy rises to 7.3%

A total of 75,600 sqm of new warehouse space was added to the Czech industrial property market in the first quarter 2012, bringing the total A-class warehouse stock to 3.928 million sqm. Another 132,500 sqm is currently under construction. Gross take-up including renegotiations reached 130,700 sqm, 30 percent more than Q4 2011 (and 30 percent more than Q1 2011). Net take-up fell 43 percent q-o-q to 89,000 sqm (27 percent down y-o-y). Of the total, 286,200 sqm were vacant by the end of March 2012, a rise of 0.6 percent to 7.3 percent. The numbers come from the Industrial Research Forum in Prague, a joint effort by CBRE, DTZ, JLL, and Colliers.
