Czech mortgages are sticking to their lowest ever levels, as the Fincentrum Hypoindex shows the average charge of 2.05 percent held firm in June. The indicator has been tracked by Hypoindex since 2003 and is measured independent of the length of fixation. In 2008, mortgage rates peaked at 5.82 percent. Fincentra’s Josef Rajdl told CTK that the volume of loans is also hitting record levels, with 10,794 agreements being reached between banks and clients (1,717 more than in May). In June, a record volume of mortgages were also agreed, totalling CZK 19.7bn.
