“The situation in the construction industry improved slightly in November. Production is still in a year-on-year decline, but compared to October, it recorded a month-on-month increase,” said Petra Cuřínová, head of the CZSO construction and housing construction statistics department. She added that the driving force is still civil engineering, which is based on the segment of large companies. In November, building authorities caught up with the shortfall from previous months, the number and volume of permits was growing, as was housing construction.
Building permits were issued by authorities in November 7,262, up 3.7 percent year-on-year. The approximate value of these constructions reached 36.9 billion crowns and in comparison with the same period of 2019 it increased by 22.9 percent.
In November, construction began on 2,792 dwellings, which was seven percent more year-on-year. In particular, construction in apartment buildings increased by 84 percent, while construction in apartment buildings decreased by nine percent. Builders completed 3,771 dwellings in November, up 7.5 percent year on year.
