Czech public construction orders hit CZK 80.7bn in the first half of this year, up 38.7 percent y-o-y. In July, 791 orders worth CZK 15.7bn were offered. The value of building orders went up by 12.9 percent to CZK 20.249bn while the volume of infrastructure constructions increased by 50.2 percent to CZK 60.5bn, according to an analysis by the engineering consultancy ÚRS Praha. The largest public tender for construction work was a CZK 2.7bn contract handed out by the state company ČEPS for the construction of new electric power lines. In all, three contracts worth more than CZK 1bn have been awarded so far during 2014.
