The Czech state will earmark CZK 7.5 billion (approximately EUR 293 million) for sports in its 2022, which is CZK 1.5 billion more than this year, Finance Minister Alena Schillerova (for ANO) and National Sports Agency (NSA) head Filip Neusser agreed on Tuesday.
“We will enhance the sports budget by another CZK 1.5 billion. The money will start to be provided from this year’s budget and the saved resources so that the NSA can start signing the contracts [this autumn]…, but the money will be spent and used next year only,” Schillerova told a press conference after meeting Neusser.
“We agreed that this is a sum that can be really spent. It will help enhance some priorities…and projects the NSA plans to carry out,” Schillerova said.
“I would like to thank the minister for the very constructive negotiations about the 2022 budget. I am very glad that we have agreed on sport being one of the priorities not only to the minister but to all of us. It is necessary to have healthy children and the nation needs to be fit,” Neusser told the press conference.
