The competition between Czech train operators and Slovak railways is heating up. Czech operators are now offering advanced ticket sales on journeys between Prague and Košice. Leo Express charges CZK 479 for an economy class ticket. Passengers can buy their tickets in advance for CZK 349. Regiojet, meanwhile, charges CZK 252 for a spot in a six-seat compartment or CZK 616 for an individual seat in an open train car. Passengers can buy a ticket on České dráhy’s high-speed Pendolino train for CZK 510. All three Czech operators claim they will get the passengers from Prague to Košice in 7.5 to eight hours.
