Czech train operators, including Leo Express, Regio.Jet and České dráhy, are now offering connections to the city of Košice in eastern Slovakia. Daniel Kurucz, the director of České dráhy, told Hospodářské noviny that the company is in negotiations with Slovak railways to set up a connection using the Pendolino fast train. The railway company plans to start testing the route in September. The connection between Prague and Košice is currently the longest line between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Kuruc also said that České dráhy plans to offer additional services in its trains similarly to Regio.Jet and Leo Express to be more competitive.
