Czech transport system needs CZK 86bn annually

28 February 2018

The State Transportation Fund will need at least CZK 86bn per year in order to keep up with needed maintenance and development of the country’s infrastructure. That’s the finding of the updated Transportation Sector Strategy that the Czech government approved on Tuesday. The document is intended to lay out the government’s short-, mid- and long-term vision for the country’s transportation network. By 2050, for example, the government assumes it will complete all portions of the trans-European network known as TEN-T. The government warned, however, that it is still unable to eliminate all the risks to projects that arise during the design of infrastructure projects as well as the land assembly process they require.
