The Czech Republic has maintained its ranking as the EU country with the lowest unemployment rate, with just 2.1 percent of the work force currently out of a job. This places it ahead of Germany, which is also doing well at 3.3 percent and Poland, which is at 3.5 percent. Slovakia’s unemployment rate is currently 6.1 percent. The worst unemployment situation is currently to be found in Greece, where 18.6 percent of all working age people aren’t making a paycheck. Young Czechs are also doing comparatively well, with just 5.8 percent of those under 25 not working. In Greece the figure is 38.5 percent, in Spain it’s 32.7 percent and in Italian, 31.9 percent of this demographic is not in a job.
