Czechia: Raiffeisenbank’s Supervisory Board elects Vida as head of the bank for the next five years

The Supervisory Board of Raiffeisenbank has elected Igor Vida as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Czech Raiffeisenbank for another five-year term. Vida has been CEO and chairman of the board of directors of Raiffeisenbank since 2015. He is also a member of the supervisory board of Raiffeisen Leasing and deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Raiffeisen stavební spořitelna.

During his tenure as CEO, the bank has increased the number of its clients several times, gradually welcoming clients from Citibank, Zuno Bank, ING Bank and Equa Bank in addition to the growth of its organisation. By the end of 2022, Raiffeisenbank served approximately 1.8 million clients in a network of 125 branches and employed approximately 3,400 staff.

Prior to joining Raiffeisenbank, Vida (56) worked for more than 20 years at Tatra banka in Slovakia, where he started his career in financial markets and investment banking. In 1997 he became a member of the Board of Directors, and since 2007 he has served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Tatra banka. In addition to these positions, he was President of the Slovak Banking Association, a member of the Presidium of the Czech Banking Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Economics in Bratislava. He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of the Czech Banking Association.

Raiffeisenbank is one of the largest banking houses in the Czech Republic. It has been providing banking services in the Czech Republic since 1993. The majority shareholder is the Austrian financial institution Raiffeisen Bank International.
