The Czech Highway Authority (ŘSD) is looking for design companies that will work with it over the next four years on the preparation of new highways and motorways. It’s offering CZK 1.6bn to the company that will help it secure planning permits and other needed documentation. The work has been divided into four separate orders according to size. The smallest of them will have a total price of CZK 1.2bn at most, which will be divided between eight companies. The largest orders will be worth over CZK 3bn. The biggest problem according to the Minister of Transportation Dan Ťok is the lack of prepared projects for contractors to work on. He admits, however, that the current design work won’t make itself felt on the volume of new road completions for several years. The ministry plans to spend CZK 4.278bn on infrastructure design work in 2018.
