Lego announced it will layoff 380 employees at its headquarters in Denmark by 2015 and move its assembly and packaging activities closer to the company’s core markets. The toy giant is looking to relocate part of its production to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Mexico in a move to cut costs and delivery times. “For some employees it will be natural departures. Other employees will be able to acquire new skills and find other positions within the Lego group. But unfortunately, we will not be able to avoid some layoffs,” chief executive Joergen Vig Knudstorp said in a statement.
