A tender begun two and a half years ago for the construction of a 13 km stretch of theD3 motorway in southern Bohemia has finally ended with the signing of a CZK 7bn contract between the state and a Slovak/Italian consortium of Doprastav and Salini Impregilo. The new stretch of motorway goes from Hodějovic to Třebonín and includes the construction of 17 bridges. Work is expected to get underway by March. Salini Impregilo has had difficulties with a road contract in Slovakia. A conflict with the investor there is being solved by an international commission with work on a 7.5 km tunnel currently stopped.
