The D3 motorway connecting Prague to Austria through České Budějovice and Tábor will lead through the Posázaví region. The decision by the Czech Ministry of environment and the Czech Highway Authority (ŘSD) to support the western variant of the route has opened way for the realization of the the important artery, and was followed immediately with a call for bids in a tender for project documentation. The planning permit, however, will be issued no earlier than 2015, and only then can land purchases begin. The winner of the tender will be responsible for documentation for planning and construction permit, land acquisition and construction management in a job worth CZK 300m.
