The Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) said it cannot properly check the condition of both exits from D47 motorway in Ostrava. One exit is in such a bad condition that it might not withstand testing. Both exits were completed six years ago, and they suffer from cracks and shifted beams. Trucks have not been allowed to use the exits since September.
The government has been fighting with Eurovia, the construction company that built the 9 km long section of the D47 motorway near Ostrava, since 2011. The section is corrugated, which ŘSD claims is the result of the subsoil used to build the motorway.
