Another portion of the planned construction of the D6 connecting Prague and Karlovy Vary has received its EIA, clearing the way for construction to begin on a key piece of missing infratructure. E15 writes that that the portion of the motorway between Petrohrad, Vroutek Blatno and Lubenec would add another 12 km to the road, citing documents on the Cenia.cz website. It would connect to the first phase of the the bypass around the village of Lubenec that’s currently under construction. “We’re making up for a horrible period of neglect over the last four year during which we opened just 40 km of new motorway,” said Emanual Šíp, chaiman of the transportation division in the Czech Chambe of Econmics. He told E15 that the Czech Republic is slightly below the average of Poland and Hungary when it comes to opening new roads.
