Construction work on the last portion of the D8 highway connecting Czech Republic to Germany will start on May 5. The Ústí region has rejected the final appeals against planning and construction permits for the 12.7km long section of motorway, which cuts through a nature reserve. The D8 highway has been built, gradually, since 1984, and is now completed except for this last 12.7 km long stretch. Completion is scheduled in 32 months, according to the National Highway Authority.
