7 March 2024

Following Dr Bertold Wild’s final retirement in mid-May, industry insider David S. Christmann will take over as Chairman of the Management Board of UBM in Germany on 1 April 2024. Werner Huber’s successors as Technical Managing Directors in Germany have been Bernhard Egert and Roman Ehrentraut since the beginning of the year. They took on these roles in parallel with their responsibilities for the Timber Construction/Green Building and Technical Competences divisions of the listed holding company.

The German Management Board will therefore consist of the following 4 people from the beginning of April 2024 David S. Christmann (Chairman), Daniel Pfister (Finance) as well as Bernhard Egert (Technology) and Roman Ehrentraut (Technology).

Over the course of his career, David S. Christmann has held various management positions at Isaria, Rock Capital, Patrizia and aurelis, most recently as divisional director at Quarterback in Munich. The qualified architect and urban planner has over 30 years of industry experience and is excellently networked.

“With his expertise and experience, David Christmann will not only guide UBM in Germany through the current industry crisis, but also further develop UBM’s prominent projects and its timber construction expertise,” says Thomas G. Winkler, CEO of Vienna-listed UBM Development AG, the parent company of UBM Development Deutschland GmbH.

“I am looking forward to the new task and my new colleagues. The goal of becoming the largest timber construction developer in Europe was the deciding factor for me to really get going again,” adds David S. Christmann.

“At almost 70 and after obtaining building rights for our Munich projects, it’s finally time for a new chapter in my life. Even though I will always remain associated with UBM,” says Bertold Wild on his retirement into private life.
