The logistics and forwarding company DB Schenker is preparing a new logistics warehouse in Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín region. Two halls with a total area of 10,500 sqm will be built. DB Schenker will provide most of the logistics services in the new terminal for its long-term customer, coffee maker Jacobs Douwe Egberts, which has a factory in Valašské Meziříčí, representatives of DB Schenker announced. The center should start operating in September this year.
The new DB Schenker terminal will be part of the ARETE Valašské Meziříčí industrial park. “The terminal is located in a convenient location. The connection with the D48 motorway offers excellent transport connections to the main routes to Ostrava, Brno or Poland, as well as to Slovakia. Holomoucký.
Jacobs Douwe Egberts will fill 6,000 sqm in a new warehouse. So far, the company uses the DB Schenker distribution warehouse in nearby Nový Jičín. “Jacobs Douwe Egberts in Valašské Meziříčí currently produces over 30,000 tons of coffee and coffee blends per year. The factory is located practically in the city, it does not have the required size in stock. Thanks to long-term cooperation with DB Schenker, we have the route between the factory and the current external warehouse will be shortened, reducing the carbon footprint by 132 tonnes of CO2 per year,” said Douwe Egberts Karel Škvain.
The remaining space in the new warehouse will be available to new customers. It will be possible to expand the storage capacity by another 10,000 sqm in the future.
