Slovak parliamentary leaders returned from an inspection of the Bratislava ring road construction project unconvinced by reports that contaminated materials are being used to complete it. They stopped at four locations along the road, but were unable to find any obvious evidence of serious, large-scale infractions. The group is still waiting for the laboratory results of samples taken from the sites. There are still concerns over the project, however. Deputy Miroslav Ivan said it’s clear that the entire road won’t be ready in 2020 as planned. “That’s obvious to everyone,” he said. “The question is just how late it will be. We hope it won’t be more than a year.”
