Design competition announced for reconstruction of Vítězné nám. in Prague 6
Prague will hold an international competition for Vítězné náměstí, the enormous traffic circle in Prague 6 where the Dejvicka metro stop is located. The Prague Planning Institute (IPR) is organizing the competition, to be launched this spring, in order to come up with a new urban and transportation solution for the space. Results of the competition should be known by October and are expected to be used as the basis for the square’s reconstruction. One of the goals of the competition is to come up with ideas for how to create what’s essentially a bypass connecting two heavily used traffic arteries: Svatovítská Street with Evropska. Construction work isn’t expected to begin, however, before 2020.
