A consortium named SP + MTP + A69 + SEU_Terminál Smíchov won an order for the largest transport design orders of the year. The bid from Sudop Praha, Sudop Eu and Metroprojekt and A69 – architekti won the tender to design a new terminal to replace the Smichov railway station with an offer of CZK 141m. There were four bids in all for the tender, including one for CZK 128m from a consortium that included AFRY CZ, Sagasta, Siebert + Talaš a Jakub Cigler architekti. Although cheaper, the consortium reportedly failed to provide an original bank guarantee as stipulated in the tender conditions. The new transport terminal will include space for the new SSZ headquarters (the company that owns and maintains the country’s railway maintenance) and the Czech Highways Authority (RSD) as well. The new train station will have to provide efficient to the city’s metro, bus and tram system as well as a new P+R parking facility for 1,000 cars.
