The Polish economy’s positive outlook has convinced the German lender Deutsche Hypo to increase its presence in the country’s property sector. The bank recently launched a new division in Warsaw and says it is looking to expand its exposure in all real estate sectors by providing development loans for retail, office, warehouse, hotel and housing projects. Beata Latoszek, Deutsche Hypo’s head in Poland, said the bank also wants to providing financing to the country’s housing rental market. “As a bank, we know this sector from our home market – Germany. While in Poland it’s taking its first steps, the housing rental market in Germany has developed over the past years, and we expect to see this in Poland in the coming years,” Latoszek says.
