Developers agreeing to more relocation bonuses

2 June 2014

The Romanian office market is getting increasingly more competitive these days, forcing developers to up their relocation incentives in an effort to lure tenants to their projects. Silvia Opris, a partner at Schoenherr and Associates, said companies are more inclined to move into a new office building offering a lower monthly rent if the landlord is willing to pay some of its relocation costs, which in some cases includes penalties for breaking a lease early. Madalina Cojocaru, head of office at DTZ, says rents have fallen as low as €18.5 per sqm in some cities, but it’s the added relocation bonuses that really entice tenants.
