CBRE Romania has announced that DHL Express, a global leader in international express courier services, is set to open a new logistics center in VGP Park Bucharest North, located near Bucharest in the town of Ștefănești. The lease for the 4,109-square-meter space was facilitated by CBRE Romania.

This new logistics center will focus on sorting parcels arriving by air, ensuring swift delivery to DHL Express customers across Romania. VGP Park Bucharest North’s strategic location near the A3 Bucharest-Ploiești highway provides quick access to the road transport network, optimizing the delivery process.

“We are delighted to operate this new logistics center in VGP Park Bucharest North, which will significantly enhance our shipment sorting and delivery capacity, ensuring the safety and security of our customers’ goods and employees in Romania. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to the Romanian market and strengthens our position as a market leader in the express courier industry,” stated Bogdan Enache, Managing Director of DHL Express Romania.

The new facility will be housed in the third completed building within VGP Park Bucharest North, a modern construction covering 26,966 square meters. This innovative building, rated BREEAM Excellent, utilizes heat pumps for heating, ensuring superior energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact, completely eliminating the need for gas.

“VGP Park Bucharest North benefits from a strategic location with direct access to the A3 and A0 highways, the latter simplifying access to the airport. Significant investments in infrastructure have transformed the park into a premier logistics center, facilitating the rapid and efficient transport of goods to and from the park,” said Călin Badea, I&L consultant at CBRE Romania.

CBRE data indicates a national upward trend in the logistics sector, marked by increasing demand for modern, efficient logistics spaces near airports and main transport routes. This growth is bolstered by Romania’s access to the Schengen area, which has streamlined the transit of goods by removing internal air border controls, further establishing Romania as a key logistics hub in the region.

VGP Park Bucharest North, spanning approximately 250,000 square meters, offers around 120,000 square meters of leasable space across four buildings. The full occupancy of the first two buildings underscores the park’s appeal to companies seeking modern and efficient logistics solutions.
