Direct investment in hotels in Spain grows jumps 18% in 2016

14 October 2016

Direct investment in the tourism sector in Spain in the year to date has reached €996m, an increase of 18 percent compared to the same period in 2015. The data was published in a new study entitled “Spanish Hotel Sector Report” by BNP Paribas Real Estate. In the last year, the biggest share of the volume invested in hotels was through company deals, whereas the volume in 2016 has been reached almost entirely through sales of the actual hotel assets. Hotel investment will continue to climb in 2017, writes BNP Paribas, as will tourist expenditures.
