Distressed home sales fall 2.7% in March

According to data from CoreLogic, distressed home sales in the Tampa region were the third highest in the U.S. Of the 25 largest core statistical areas the company monitors, the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area had a distressed sales rate of 18.6 percent in March 2016. Nationwide, distressed sales accounted for 9.9% of total home sales, a drop of 2.7 percentage points from the same time period last year. Nationally, the greater Baltimore area had the highest rate at 19.8 percent, with Chicago, Orlando and Newark, NJ rounding out the top five. Distressed home sales include real estate-owned and short sales.
