DIVia consortium wins D4 construction order with CZK 16bn bid

10 December 2020

The contract to construct of a 32 kilometer section of the D4 motorway between Pribram and Pisek has been awarded to the DIVia consortium, which is made up of two foreign companies Vinci and Meridiam. The next cheapest offer came from the Via 4 consortium which was made up of a quartet of companies from Austria, Australia, France and Spain. Included in the price, however, is not just the construction of the motorway and its maintenance for the next 25 years but the maintenance of an additional 16 kilometer stretch that’s already been built. The order was set up as a Public Private Partnership that will allow the state to pay DIVia in monthly installments over 25 years, rather than having to finance the work from its current budget.
