DNA wides net around Adrian Severin corruption case

4 February 2013

The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) has expanded its investigation of Adrian Severin, a member of the European Parliament accused of taking bribes. The DNA is now charging Severin of using or making fake, inexact or incomplete documents or statements in an effort to illegally secure EU funds.

Severin served as Romania’s foreign minister between 1996 and 1997. In 2007, he became a member of the European Parliament, following Romania’s accession to the European Union.
