Doosan Bobcat will open a new 13,500 sqm storage hall in the Beroun region

14 September 2021

The industrial zone builder Panattoni and the infrastructure investor for the business Accolade are preparing a modern hall for Doosan Bobcat in Zdice in the Beroun region. The world’s leading manufacturer of compact loaders and excavators will use it to receive, inspect, sort, store and prepare materials and components for supplying production lines in nearby Dobříš, where, in addition to the production plant, it also has an innovation center and training center. Approximately 80 employees will find work in the 13,500 sqm hall and the value of the property will climb to CZK 300 million. The start of operation is planned for next year.

“In recent years, we have been systematically improving the quality of operations and increasing production capacity. Consolidation of all external warehouses into one location and at the same time expanding the capacity of storage spaces with the use of modern technologies is another logical step for the development of our business. The Panattoni project in Zdice has a very strategic position for our production – it has a direct connection to the D5 motorway and our infrastructure in Dobříš,” said David Frodl, Communications Manager Doosan Bobcat EMEA.

“The hall in Zdice will mainly help the tenant to streamline operations, as it will replace several existing warehouses in various locations. However, I would like to point out the environmental aspect of the project. According to our estimates, the concentration of logistics under one roof will help save thousands of liters of diesel per month, and thus hundreds of kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions. The hall will also meet the strict requirements of BREEAM environmental certification according to the latest standards. I am very pleased that this project also fully corresponds to our long-term strategy of sustainable development,” says Pavel Sovička, Panattoni’s General Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

“According to the valid zoning plan, the new hall has a maximum height of 12.5 meters and will be partially sunk into the slope. The project envisages a modern industrial zone with more than 30% greenery, water areas and hundreds of other new shrubs and trees. We prepare all our halls to meet the highest standards of approach to the environment and the world around us. Bobcat has been in Dobříš for 20 years, has a development center in the Czech Republic for 18 years and even opened a large innovation center seven years ago. We are glad that we can participate in the growth of such great companies in the Czech Republic,” says Milan Kratina, CEO of Accolade, about the project.

The storage space will also include offices and the total area that the tenant will use is 13,541 sqm with an option for another 5,000 sqm. Consolidation of storage areas from different locations into one modern hall will reduce costs, reduce the carbon footprint and reduce energy consumption. The construction of the storage hall will aim at a high evaluation of the BREEAM New Construction ecological certification, at least at the level of Very Good.
