Doosan broke ground on a copper foil plant in Tatabanya, northwestern Hungary. The South Korean company is planning to invest HUF 31bn in the project. The plant is going up on a 144,000 sqm plot within the Tatabanya Industrial Park. The Hungarian government will support the project with a HUF 4.7bn grant. The plant, which is expected to add 181 new jobs to the local labor market, will produce 50,000 tons of copper foil a year when it reaches full capacity, enough to make batteries for about 2.2 million electric vehicles.
