The number of Airbnb customers rose 52 percent in 2017 to 1.02 million, according to Airbnb’s director of data research Anita Rothová. She told novinky.cz that the figure actually doubled in non-Prague locations and that the total number of hosts is currently 11,000. “The average period of sharing is 38 nights per year during which hosts earn an average of €2,100,” she said, adding that the typical host is 38 years old. “Renting allows them to continue living in the center and to pay their bills. The fastest growing community in the region are women over the age of 60.” In all, Airbnb guests paid €324m last year on accommodations in the Czech Republic.
