DS Smith will invest GBP 100 million in new plants in Poland and Italy

DS Smith will invest a total of GBP 100m in building two new production plants in Poland and Italy in response to growing customer demand, the company said.

Due to the expected further growth of the eco-friendly cardboard packaging market, resulting from the growing importance of e-commerce and the growing traditional food and drink market, the new plant will provide the necessary production capacity “- reads the release.

A new production plant in Poland will be built in Bełchatów. This investment will be another significant step in the further development of the company on the Polish market after the successful construction of a new plant in Kutno in 2005 and the subsequent expansion of the existing factory in Oława, underlined.

The new factory with an area of ​​37,000 m2 will be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

DS Smith Polska is part of the international concern DS Smith Plc, which in total has nearly 28.5 thousand. employees in 37 countries. The company has been operating in Poland since 1971. In factories and service centers in five cities, incl. Kielce and Kutno, employs 1,250 people.
