Two companies from Germany and the Netherlands, will launch construction of new plants for automotive parts in Bulgaria worth a total of EUR 61.4 million (Levs 120 million), according to economy minister Bogdan Bogdanov. The companies will each invest Levs 60 million in the respective projects.
The new manufacturing facilities will be built in the south-central region of Stara Zagora and the northeastern region of Ruse, respectively. This will lead to the creation of close to 700 new jobs.
In terms of the development of new industrial zones, the planning focus will be put on northern Bulgaria to help it reach the country’s southern regions in terms of economic development. Once Bulgaria joins the Schengen area, the country’s north will be the main beneficiary of infrastructure investments with a view to improving its logistical links to the south, the economy minister declared.
