The European Union will be providing €324m to Montenegro in financial assistance for the union’s budgetary period of 2014 – 2020. The EU has allocated €52m for use in agriculture and rural development. The same amount has been earmarked for investments into the rule of law in Montenegro and for the protection of fundamental rights.
In addition, €47m is to be allocated to projects promoting democracy and governance, while a further €40m will go towards improved cross-border cooperation, €38m for the support of environmental and climate action and €32m will be apportioned to finance transportation projects.
