€4 bn for office buildings and shopping centers

The most important real estate active investors have placed in Romanian properties over €4 bn, mainly in office buildings and shopping centers.
Most investments were made before the market collapse.
The first ten of the country have heavy real estate portfolio of 83 income-generating properties.
Only three Romanian investors can be found in the top: Iulian Dascalu – the largest shopping center owner, Gabriel Popoviciu and his business partners and Ion Tiriac, with two residential complexes in Bucharest. They invest in the real estate market a total sum of €1.2 bn.
The rest investors are Austrian, Israeli, German and British.
Most acquisitions and developments made by the investors were concluded in the 2006-2008 period, when the cumulative volume of transactions of the entire market was €3.3 bn.
