Early election avoidance still strong in Czechia

The Czech prime minister Petr Nečas blinked first in the current political staring match that’s gripped the nation. Having threatened to call early elections if a splinter group from the shattered junior coalition party Public Affairs failed to gain ten votes by Monday, he’s pushed the deadline back a bit. Karolina Peak, leader of the splinter group, needs one more defector from the original party and has been given time to do so, as this would give the government a majority in parliament.
