EBRD to support women entrepreneurs in Croatia

19 July 2016

In an effort to support female entrepreneurs in Croatia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it plans to give companies started by women access to loans and business counseling. The Women in Business program is funded by Luxembourg, the Taiwan-EBRD Cooperation Fund and the EBRD Shareholder Special Fund. It offers training courses, mentoring and easier access to loans.

The first phase of the program launched in March 2015, with backing from Privredna Banka Zagreb and Raiffeisen Bank Austria. To date, a total of €15m has been granted to small and medium-sized enterprises managed by women.
