Bratislava ranks higher than Prague when it comes to living and working conditions, according to the European Commission. Based on a list of 263 regions, Prague comes in at 102, while Bratislava ranks 96. Both cities lag behind the other EU regions in regards to the quality of public administration, infrastructure, healthcare and basic education. Neither Bratislava nor Prague are leaders in technology, innovation or business progress. Both capitals, however, rank better when it comes to GDP per person according to purchasing power: Bratislava takes third place, while Prague ranks 45.
