After eight years in design and review, Edwards Cos. is set to kickoff construction of the mixed use Atlantic Crossing development on the east end of Downtown Delray Beach, Fl. The $25 million retail office and residential project represents the largest private investment in the city’s history. Plans call for 76,000 square feet of ground floor retail and restaurant space, 86,000 sqf of office space along with 343 units on 560 linear feet of exposure along Atlantic Ave. With a four year construction time table, the office and retail components will be open in fourth quarter of 2019, with completion of the first residences anticipated for 2020 and addition units to be added in 2022. “It’s a rare opportunity to create a new hub of city life, and solidify Atlantic Avenue as one of South Florida’s destination retail streets, alongside Miami’s Lincoln Road, Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas Boulevard and Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue,” said Don DeVere, vice president, Edwards Cos.
