Egis opens new factories in Budapest

The pharmaceutical company Egis PLC opened two new factories in Budapest. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was present at the opening ceremonies for both. The new complexes will focus on research and development for drugs related to cardiovascular diseases, as well as disorders of the central nervous, respiratory and digestive systems. In addition to Budapest, Egis also has offices in Körmend. The company, owned by the French leading pharmaceutical company Servier Group, reported HUF 130bn in revenues last year. Three-quarters of the profits came from exported medicines.
