Ekospol runs into hurdle for selling flats without planning in Prague 15

24 June 2016

Prague 15 rejected Ekospol’s application for a planning permit for its Ekocity Hostivař residential project. The developer had already launched sales for the flats in the project, and hundreds of units have been reserved. Ekospol can still appeal the decision. Prague 15 argues that the project is not in line with the current master plan. Ekospol hopes that the hurdle will only delay the project by a few months. Ekocity Hostivař will offer 800 flats in six apartment buildings. Ekospol bought the project from the Slovak developer CTY last year, according to E15, and estimated costs amount to CZK 1.3bn. Selling flats in projects without planning permit was sharply criticized by Ekospol’s competitor, Central Group.
