Electricity tariffs up 5 percent as of July 1

2 July 2012

The prices and tariffs of electricity delivered to non-domestic and domestic consumers will grow by 5 percent as of July 1, according to the National Energy Regulation Authority (ANRE).

According to ANRE, the price and tariff changes are motivated by the need to correlate costs with production, transport and distribution of electricity with the inflation rate, which cumulated for 2010 and 2011, went over 13 percent.

Electricity prices for consumers were last changed on January 1, 2010.
