Enea awaits approval for new energy units in Opole

17 September 2012

The city of Opole’s administrative court is expected to green light construction of two new coal facilities. An agreement on the project PLN 6.28bn from the Polish energy giant is expected to be signed this week. Polimex-Mostostal will oversee construction.
“If the city authorities refuse to approve the project, Polimex will fall, and the entire project will will go into oblivion,” writes the daily Puls Biznesu. Some market observers, however, say the investment in Opole is not economically justified given the current electricity prices.
