Enel to offload 66% share in Slovenské elektrarne

11 July 2014

Fitch has refused to do a rating of Slovenské elektrárne (SE). The agency says that the power supplier refused to hand over information it needs. The last rating conducted by Fitch for Slovenské elektrárně was BBB- with a negative outlook. Fitch’s decision comes at the same time that the company’s majority owner, Enel, announced that it intends to sell its 66-percent share to reduce its debts. Rosatom is reportedly interested in buying the share, with Russia’s Sberbank offering to finance the transaction. The server sme.sk lists the Czech power supplier ČEZ as another bidder.
