Enforced retirement for Hungarian public sector workers

7 January 2013

The Hungarian government is taking steps to enforce mandatory retirement for public sector workers who have reached pension age and have worked long enough to earn full pensions. A recently published government resolution stipulates the government has until the end of January to resolve this matter. Exceptions will be made for instructors, teachers and researchers at state universities. Exceptions for other state employees will be based on the basis of case-by-case government reviews.
