Equa bank plans to open further 21 outlets in the regional cities in the Czech Republic before the end of 2015, bringing its national network to 60 outlets. Two of these will open by the end of the year in Ústí nad Labem and Jihlava. The owner, UK based AnaCap, will finance the expansion with a financial injection of CZK 2bn.
Despite the growing popularity of on-line banking, Equa bank’s director Petr Řehák told the server aktualne.cz that the majority of its clients in the Czech Republic still prefer personal service. Equa bank entered the Czech market in 2011, at the same time as Zuno Bank and Air Bank. It has over 100,000 clients.
