Eset will get a second chance to bid on a site in Bratislava’s Patrónka district, where it wants to build its futuristic campus. The Slovak government decided to change the tender conditions and now plans to hold an auction for the property, despite originally stating that it would announce the winner on April 10. Eset’s original bid was the lowest in the initial tender where the highest offer was the sole decisive criterion. Forespo Reality 10 offered €24m, Eset’s bid was lower by €500,000. Forest Hill also offered more than Eset. The software giant is now saying that it is willing to match the highest bid. As a result, the ministry has decided to prolong the tender until May 15. Both the ministry and the Bratislava mayor support Eset’s plan, as they want to keep this investment in Bratislava. Eset announced it got a number of other offers for locations where it could build its futuristic campus with oval-shaped office buildings and social, sports and residential amenities.
