Eset unveils plans to build futuristic headquarters at Patrónka

6 April 2017

Eset is hoping to build its new headquarters in the Patrónka hospital area in Bratislava. The Slovak IT company is one of the bidders taking part in the state-run tender for the location. Eset unveiled its plans for the area, which include an office complex for a staff of 1,400, a canteen for 1,100 people, a business incubator and a parking garage for 900 cars. The proposal also calls for a sports stadium, apartments for foreign specialists and a kindergarten. Eset, however, did not submit the highest bid, which was the only key criteria in the tender.
This is the Slovak Ministry of Interior’s fourth attempt to offload the property. The original asking price was €33m, but the ministry received no offers last summer. The second round was canceled, and in the third round, three bidders submitted offers: František Hodorovský’s Forest Hill Company, Forespo Reality 10 and Eset. The ministry, however, canceled the tender again, because the bids were too low. The same three companies that participated in the third round submitted bids in the fourth. Forespo offered the highest price, which was reportedly more than €24m. A final decision will be announced next week. The ministry likes the Eset project, designed by Atelier A11, according to Eset CEO Richard Marko, who offered to match the highest bid. He said Eset received other site offers after unveiling its futuristic project, which would take five years to build.
